In this past week, I've grown more concerned as the situation in Iraq and Iran seems nowhere near a resolution, North Korea test-fired missiles that either landed in the Sea of Japan or broke up in the air, and then North Korea's leader, Kim Jong Il, said more tests would be coming.
And then, there is the big question of the current and future state of the environment...what has brought us seemingly to the brink of destruction?
Could it be that the answer is so simple as we have forgotten how to love ourselves and each other?
My inspiration for this week's episode came from one of the songs in my Podsafe Music Network playlist.
As I listened to "Pass On Love" by People Coyote, I thought that the simple idea of passing on love could be an answer to the state of the world right now.
This is not the same as the "Make Love, Not War" slogan of the 60's.
Rather, this kind of love is the kind of love that would consider unacceptable the idea of depriving people of at least a humane standard of living so that someone else can stuff pockets with billions.
This kind of love would not think of poisoning our environment and ensuring that life as we know it can not continue without a forced change.
This kind of love would understand that what we do to another we also do to ourselves.
If we just learn to love ourselves and pass that love on to others, it might just make a difference in how we live life on this planet.
Starting with this episode, I will also be hosting what I intend to become the largest prayer circle in the Podosphere.
I will do everything in my power to ensure that this prayer circle is as ecumenical as possible, and I welcome people from all spritual paths,
as well as those who do not follow any particular spiritual path.
Together, we can make a difference, and I invite you to join us.
