Join me today for an all-new Christmas episode.
The story of Jesus' birth may have originated well before Jesus was supposed to be born. Why is this story so important that people would perpetuate it? I'll discuss my insights to this question, as well as give insight on why this story is especially relevant to our time. Merry Christmas to all! Music today:

The Partner will be on local TV's version of *The Antiques Roadshow,* and no, it didn't put me to sleep...
The Big Three automakers have turned up the heat on their demands for a bailout. What's next? Barack Obama has enraged gay activists everywhere with his choice of Pastor Rick Warren to lead the invocation at his inauguration. Major slap, or brilliant political move that might actually work in everybody's favor? I'll give my opinion. Happy Hiatus to QCast as they take a break and revamp the show. Maybe I have a chance at Page 1 of the Featured Personal Journals now... A special segment in which I invite all to participate. Music Today:
"Christmas Is Counting on Me" by Podsafe Music Network artist Lee Harris
"Change the World" by Podsafe Music Network artist Doña Oxford

Ramble Redhead sent me the link to this video, a Mark Shaiman production starring Jack Black, along with an all-star cast. While the passage of Prop 8 was not any kind of laughing matter, this musical sketch makes several points in a way that no political speeches can. I'm issuing a challenge to all of my fellow bloggers and podcasters to embed this video in their respective blogs and help spread the word about "Prop 8-The Musical."

Phil has produced two excellent new albums, ![]() Casualties, and ![]() {What Became of the}Choirboy. Even more importantly, he has become more comfortable with himself and the results are obvious in his work. Join Phil and me as we discuss music, hot t-shirt models, girls texting in the middle of supermarket parking lots, and just a smidge of politics. Oh, and we also play a few of his songs, too. Phil's music can be obtained in CD format through his website, philputnam.com. His music can be obtained by download through iTunes--with the exception of *Choirboy,* which is a free download at his site. Music today: "More Than This" "Paris" "Sacrifice" I'm No Prize" Thanks for listening!

Once again, the Bush administration has decided to better the Clinton administration's ability to work the system to get what it wants.
First it was signing statements, then it was recess appointments, and now it's "midnight rules." A "midnight rule" is a regulation enacted by presidential decree in the final days of an administration that if it is published in the Federal Register by midnight November 21 will have the force of law. Furthermore, it will be very difficult to undo by the Obama administration, and most of it is pandering to the special interests. At this point, only an impeachment could stop this from happening, and considering it's about three hours until midnight as I post this, that doesn't seem likely. Let's hope the Congress can take up this stuff and make quick work of reversing it in the early days of the new term. For a complete list of these "midnight rules," go to: http://www.propublica.org/special/midnight-regulations/

The Big 3 are asking for a loan to keep from going out of business.
Congress is asking for them to change their ways first.
I am with Congress on this one.
The Obama Transition Office has released much of its agenda, and it is the most GLBT-friendly ever. Now, We The People must ensure that it happens! Comments from listeners. Be sure to check out my interview with Phil Putnam next week. Music Today:
