It should come as no surprise that the so-called "war on terror" has been backed by one of the most sophisticated marketing campaigns ever.
I have often talked about the level of propaganda that the Bush administration has used to further viewpoints that simply don't add up in the light of the facts.
Now that we are in the final months of the Bush administration, the facts are finally being allowed to come forward. Independent media have been talking about this for much longer, and now the mainstream media have finally been let out of their corporate cages to begin whispering the same information.
The article below ran in Sunday's New York Times, and while it is long, it should be required reading for everybody who takes democracy seriously.
