The team of Randy, Simon, Paula, and newcomer Kara are scouting the continent for the contestants for American Idol 8, and in just a few short months we'll see who they have picked as finalists. In the meantime, witness the powerful impact the show has had on popular culture by inspiring creativity in others.
While it is argued that the winner of American Idol is an inspiration to budding artists, bloggers and content creators Rhett and Link found inspiration from an American Idol loser and dared to exercise their own creativity in honor of the show. Who inspired them? Was it William Hung? Was it Scooter Girl? Heck, was it Sanjaya? No! Rhett and Link found their creative muse in the form of Season 7 audition reject Alexis Cohen. Her impassioned speech about not giving up and succeeding inspired the guys to write what they termed a "Theme for a Generation." Here's the YouTube video of the fruit of their creative minds...
